People all over are living in un-safe homes and I can't take in anymore..!

It kills me because I am a certified home inspector from Western Pennsylvania and I see major home safety problems everyday including high radon levels and carbon monxide leaks. Over the last few years I've inspected hundreds of homes and many of them are extremely un-safe and families are living in them and people are selling them...!


I can't do anything about. I do the inspection, give the report to my client and it's over. No real "HOME SAFETY LESSON" is learned. I get told often that I'm a great home inspector and my home safety tips have personally saved homeowners from un-safe situations. This means alot to me and I wanted to find away to help more people in more places across the US. Now I have...If you care about home safety, breathing safe air in your home or even knowing whats in the air we breath all day and all night...then we are on the same page.

Would you bet me $50 of your hard-earned dollars that I would find nothing wrong with your home on a professional home inspection..?  Haha...keep your cash. Thats a bet you don't want to make I promise you. No homes are perfect and I could find something wrong. Anyways, the point is... no-one ever cares about home safety until someone is hurt, sick or killed. It's truly as simple as that and it's a shame. We spend most of our lives in our home. We eat, sleep and live in them every day and every night (we get are cars inspected every year right...?). We should know what gasses are present in the air we are breathing in all day and all night. Every resposible homeowner should have basic home safety knowledge and realize what conditions can cause major home safety problems. You owe it to yourself, your home and your family to do so. The reason why is... the only time a home is ever properly inspected is when it's being bought or sold and sometimes not even then. Most states have no mandatory laws in place that make a home be inspected. So people are buying and living in un-safe homes everyday and every year people pay the ultimate price.

Radon testing as with any certified or documented testing should be done in multiples. It is best and more precise to get an average result from multiple locations within a home. When I officially test radon for real estate transactions the PA law states that I must use at least 2 canisters to provide my client with an average result. This package allows you to do home radontesting of the lived in areas of the home. Details instruction for the do-it-yourself home radon testing will be included in your Home Safety Solutions package.
